GRAND ISLAND - Daniel R. Mars, 56 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at CHI Health-St. Francis.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, April 26th at All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend Adam Snoberger will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Corp and United Veterans Honor Guards. Livestreaming will be available on Daniel's obituary page at www.giallfaiths.com Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be determined later.
Daniel was born on August 10, 1967 in Grand Island the son of Robert and Linda (Hermsmeyer) Mars. He attended Trinity Lutheran School from K-8th grades and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School, class of 1985.
Daniel served in the U.S Marine Corp and the U.S. Army from 1992-2013. He honorably served his country having been deployed 6 times.
He has worked for JBS from 1985 until the present time. During the summers he worked for Skate Island. Daniel was an avid roller skater since he could walk. He was a weapon collector and loved grabbing drinks with his boys, Gage and Damion. He enjoyed playing disc golf and video games. His greatest treasure was his family and time spent with his grandkids.
Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Angela Borowy; children, Brett Dahmer, Ali Lee, Gage Mars, Damion Mars, Gemini Mars, Max Borowy, Tiffany Sherwood, Jackie Garcia and Jacob Garcia; many grandchildren; his father, Robert Mars and sisters, Anna Hundstad and Orma Mars.
He is preceded in death by his mother.
