Rosa Maria Dethloff, 82
January 7, 1941 - October 20, 2023
Rosa (Rose) Maria Dethloff, 82, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on October 20, 2023. Born on January 7, 1941, in Tijuana, Baja California, she was the daughter of the late Evangelina Ugalde De Estrada.
Rosa was a devout Christian whose unwavering faith and love for Christ shaped her life. She dedicated herself to the Methodist church, actively volunteering and participating in various committees. A member of the prayer team and a vocalist in the Praise Band, Rosa exemplified compassion, always ready to lend a caring ear.
In addition to her spiritual pursuits, Rosa found joy in an array of activities, including camping, fishing, golf, parasailing, zip-lining, crafts, knitting, and the joys of Christmas. Rosa's passion for hummingbirds brought her immense happiness, finding delight in their lively interactions. After 30 years of counseling, she retired in 2006. On May 4, 2017, she proudly became a Naturalized American Citizen.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Douglas, and her children: Carla Patton-Ochsner (Tod), Sheila Kuehn (Scott Bargenquast), Amy Green (Brian), and Mike Enck (Amanda). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Ashley Patton (Paul Craig), Alexis Luft, Elizabeth Fischbach, Zachery Fischbach (Jessica), Jacob Fischbach, great-grandchildren Riley Patton and Parker Patton, and step-grandchildren Nolan, Sadie, Jaden, and Jackson Green, and Carly, Lydia, Brayden, and Porter.
She is also survived by her brothers Ruben Estrada (Esther), Carlos Estrada, sister-in-law Karen Cassidy-Estrada, brothers-in-law Gary Dethloff (Charlene), Scott Dethloff (Toni), sister-in-law Kathleen Johnson (Maurice), and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
A Celebration of Rosa's Life is scheduled for April 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM, and will be streamed live, conducted by Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Ozarks, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
