James Munroe Obituary

JAMES A. MUNROE

HECTOR/NEWARK - 82, of Hector and Newark, NY, passed away April 4, 2018. James was an accomplished, self-taught musician and loved old time music. He was a member of the former Crooked Lake Fiddle Club in Penn Yan. He was also a member of the Hector Presbyterian Church and Odessa Conservation Club. He worked for 37 ½ years as a machinist at Shepard-Niles in Montour Falls. He is survived by wife Nellie Munroe of Dundee; son Charles J. Munroe (Kim Young) of Dundee; brothers, John Munroe and Richard Munroe (Ann), and sister, Patricia Chaffie, all of Hector; partner Jane Weiland of Newark, NY; Selma Foote of Beaver Dams and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Louise (Johns) Munroe, and infant daughter, Heather Rose Munroe. In honoring his life, a celebration of his life will be held at the Valois-Logan-Hector Fire Department on May 26, 2018, beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be held at Logan Cemetery in Burdett at a later date. You may express condolences or "Light a Candle of Remembrance" online at www.RoyceChedzoy.com.
