Smith, John T.

John T. Smith, 79, of Enfield, NY, passed away peacefully in Winter Haven, FL on November 1, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House. He was born on March 18, 1936 in Harford, PA, the son of the late Henry and Harriet Smith. John was a graduate from Watkins Glen High School. He was the owner & operator of Cow Bell Dairy Farm on Applegate Rd. in Enfield and later worked for the US Postal Service as a rural letter carrier out of Ithaca and Newfield, NY. John was a member of the Agape Bible Church in Enfield and enjoyed the fellowship of Winter Haven First Baptist Church as well. He enjoyed flying, boating, golfing and traveling. He was instrumental in the creation and success of the Enfield Dirt Diggers Moto-Cross races in Enfield. He also enjoyed playing Senior Softball in Winter haven for many years. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Helen and a brother, Charles Smith. Survivors include daughters, Katharine Coyle (Dave) and Julie Wrench; sons, Ted, David, Norman (Cindy), Jeffrey (Stephanie), Kenneth and Thomas Smith; nine grandchildren, Angela (Rich) Rider, Melissa Knapp, Lilly and Sarah Estes-Smith, Connor and Asa Smith, Carisa Smith, Keith Everhart, Jordan Smith, John Wrench and Stephanie Griffin; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Nicholas Wright. He is survived by four brothers, Henry and Roy Smith, Eddie and Alvin Kiesinger. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and multiple friends that he has made along the way that gave him much pleasure. Internment service will be held in the spring of 2016, in Enfield at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in John's name to the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Auburndale, FL, to the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.

I remember going to the farm when I was young. I always had fun there whether it be visiting with Aunt Harriet or playing in the basement with the train or playing in the barn. Sending my deepest condolences, to the family.
