WINTER HAVEN - Allison Hope DeSalvatore, 18, of Winter Haven passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at her residence.
Born October 1, 1996, in Winter Haven, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Allison was a student at Auburndale High School and maintained a 4.38 GPA despite being ill. Allison was a proud member of the Auburndale High School HOSA and aspired to attend Southeastern University and to become a Child Life Specialist. She enjoyed volunteering at the Auburndale Public Library and at a local preschool. She also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House at All Children's Hospital. Allison was a member of the National Honors Society and was awarded as 'Most Outstanding English and Art Student.' In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, and spending time with her family. She was also a member of Auburndale Community Church.
She is survived by: her mother, Angela Carroll and step-father, Nick of Winter Haven; her father, Joseph DeSalvatore and step-mother, Nicole of Tacoma, WA; sister, Meagan DeSalvatore of Winter Haven, FL; step-sisters, Tess Carroll of Auburndale, FL, and Lexi LoCurcio of Lakeland, FL; a half-brother, Luke DeSalvatore of Tacoma, WA; maternal grandmother, Norma Reed and her grandpa Wayne Camp of Fitzgerald, GA; paternal grandfather, Nicola DeSalvatore of Cape Coral, FL; grandfather, Gene Carroll of Ft. Myers, FL; uncles, Chip Carroll and his wife Amy of Ft. Myers, FL, and Matthew Summerall of Winter Haven; an aunt, Pamela Mertens of Washington, DC, and a cousin, Macy Mertens.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm, Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in her name to the Auburndale High School HOSA, for the MS Association of America, to benefit a project Allison had started, the MS Walk being held Dec. 5, 2014, at Auburndale High School.
