LAKELAND - Anna Josephine "Jo" Doverspike, 87, passed away on April 25, 2013, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure.
Mrs. Doverspike was born on January 3, 1926, in Brookville, PA, to the late LeRoy and Lula Evans. She and her husband moved to Lakeland in 2002 from Emporium, PA.
Jo is survived by her husband of 65 years, Melvin (Spike) Doverspike; daughter Vickey (Phil) Zelazny of Kill Buck, N.Y.; granddaughters Julie (Dan) Ambrose of Reston, VA, Jennifer (Amy) Zelazny of Palatine, IL, and great grandchildren Hunter Am-brose, and Evan, Cora, and Will Muller-Zelazny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Esther Means, and brothers Arthur Evans, Paul Evans, and Charles Evans.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, located at 460 Old Polk City Road in Lakeland, FL, followed by a memorial service at 4PM.

Our sympathy to Spike, Vicky and family. We were so lucky to have had this fine lady as a neighbor and friend....and I'm so glad Melvin and I went to visit her while we were in FL 2 years ago.
