BATES, 19
LAKELAND - Brent Alexander Bates, 19, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Good Shepherd Hospice House due to cancer.
Brent was born February 25, 1994, in Lakeland, Florida and has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lakeland High School and was a member of the ROTC.
He is survived by his mother, Kim Lumpuy; grandmothers, Terri Wilson and Acela Lumpuy; great grandmother, Sandra Suld; sister, Brianna Bates; brothers, Ozten & Andrew Lumpuy.
A gathering of family and friends will begin on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 9:00 a.m., with a chapel service to follow at 11 a.m., at Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Charles Harkala officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.

We haven't had many visits with you since we moved to Ocala but we thought of you all the time and have such wonderful memories of our time with you. Myself, my husband and my mother had the pleasure of meeting Brent when he helped us move Kyle and Jamie too Orlando. We brought him home that day and I have too say he made a great impression. Our hearts broke when we heard he lost his battle. Such a strong young man. Please know that the family is in our hearts and our prayers. Rest in peace Brent. You will be missed.

Brent we spent a short time together but you entered my brothers life like a fierce friend on a mission, you Josh & Chris became such good friends.
