LAKELAND - Mr. David Sumner age 65 of Lakeland, died October 7, 2009 at LRMC from heart failure.
Born February 22, 1944 at Lakeland, Florida to Grady & Mary Sumner. He was a truck driver and Shop Forman Highway Truck Equipment, Bartow
He is preceded in death by his parent's and one son Carl Sumner.
He is survived by his wife Margaret; two sons Rick Sumner, Auburndale and John Sumner, Lakeland; nine grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three brothers Tim Sumner, Mulberry, Jeff Sumner & Corey Sumner both of Lakeland; one sister Joyce Vann, Lakeland; family friend Valerie Craig. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

When I moved to Florida in 2003, one of the first people I met was David. He was a good guy. He always told you exactly what he thought and exactly how he felt.He had a boyish smirk when he was goofing around that always made me feel like he was a kid at heart.I think about him often.
