Earlene Gilbert

Citrus WorkerHAINES CITY -- Mrs. Earlene "Lynn" Gilbert of Haines City died of multiple organ failure Monday (April 18, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 75.Born in Colquitt, Ga., on Oct. 8, 1929, she came to Haines City from there 48 years ago. She was a citrus worker. She was formerly a cook for the Polk County School Board. She was a member of Full Gospel Church of Jesus.Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Gilbert Sr. She is survived by her sons, Jessie McIntyre, Lakeland, Johnny Gilbert Jr., Auburndale; daughters, Geanie Moore, Lakeland, Debra Phillips, Sandra Mills, both of Haines City; brother, Andrew Benton, Haines City; sisters, Vinelly Miller, Colquitt, Juanita Reeves, Seaville; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Claude Holmes Sr. Memorial Chapel, 601 Claude Holmes Sr. Ave., Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark AME Church, 826 N. Eighth St., Haines City.
