Mary and Family........My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Comparetto....could never call him Frank. I go way back to VMYbor and Conjunto Ybor...I was one of the girls that fronted the group and learned so much from his teachings. Then on to Jefferson as one of his majorettes. He was a wonderful teacher and a great man. My heart is full of memories that will forever sustain me in my adult life of the fun times with Mr. C and all that he left to so many young people. He is leading the angels in his new home and what music will be made. God Bless all of you at this time.

Frank, Tanya, Karen and Mrs. Comparetto, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is indeed a loss, and there will forevermore be a void in your heart that cannot be filled. Mr. Comparetto was a great person, and I am so thankful that our paths crossed in life. He was a wonderful person, father, grandfather, and mentor. It is said that life is measured by the 'dash' between your date of birth and your date of passing, and Mr. Comparetto's dash was filled with alot of love for his family and he has left you with so many wonderful memories. Again, I am so sorry and I love you all.

Dear Mary, Karen, Frank and Tanya-
"Mr. Comparetto" as I called him since 1th grade at V.M.Ybor Elementary School in 1950 and then at Jefferson HS from 1960-1963 was not only a great mentor to me, he was a model of a man and friend. A kind heart and always quick to smile he helped so many many kids throughout his life. He formed the "Cojunto Ybor" which provided an opportunity for grade school kids to perform before audiences at social club luncheons and other events. "Fulano de Tal" "Cheery Pink" and many many more tunes gave us a taste for the stage and a chance to "ham it up" always with a sense of fun and excitement few elementary kids ever experience. Fast forward to 1960, his first year as band director at Jefferson HS (my 1st year at Jefferson too). What a wonderful three years of playing my trumpet FOR him! He was such an encourager, a humble man quick to praise who loved his students and never missed an opportunity to cheer us on. He worked hard to find me a sponsor for the Cincinnati Conservatory Summer Program of 1961 and he never stopped rooting for me. So many of us have been the benefactors of the same guidance and kindness which has endured and sustained me personally as a professional trumpet player for 45 years. My retirement two months ago from the National Symphony after 42 years with them has given me time to reflect on the people who have helped me along the way in my career. Mr. Comparetto makes that short list of "angels" who made such an impact and contribution to countless youngsters who are indebted to him, as I am, for his selfless giving, gentle nature, positive disposition and cheer- leading. He has given us all such fond memories and joyful reflections. He will be missed very much. Janice and I send our love to all of you with our deepest condolences for your loss.
