FROSTPROOF - Gary Russell Hicks, 59, of Frostproof passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his resident. Cause is pending.
He was born June 4, 1949 in New Bedford, MA; he came here 12 years ago from Hollywood, FL. He owned Gary's Home Improvements and was a talented handyman. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his beloved companion, JoAnne Shepherd of Frostproof; son, Gary Hicks Jr. of Burnsville, NC; daughter, Nichole Silva of Dartmouth, MA; brother, Guy Hicks of GA and Glen Hicks of FL; sister, Gwen; and three grandchildren, Aaron, Naomi and Zachary. Gary was preceded in death by his son, James Anthony Hicks.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service begins. Condolences may be sent to the family at
