DOWELL, JR.
DAVENPORT - Hubert A. Dowell Jr. passed away on August 15, 2015, peacefully at home with loved ones at his side after a brief battle with cancer.
Hubert was a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans in Barton, FL and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Haines City, FL. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, Past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Kentucky State Police, and Alcoa retiree.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth (Betty Graves) Dowell and brother, Robert Dowell. He is survived by wife, Claudia Moffett Dowell; daughter, Rebecca Reynolds (Brad); son, Samuel Dowell (Colleen); brother, Dale Dowell (Donna); grandchildren, Chris Reynolds, Kristina Baron, Corinne Dowell, and Ethan Do-well; two great grandchildren, Stepchildren Claudia Kaye (Gary) and Raymond Moffett (Bec-ky); step grandchildren, Allison Anderson (William), Amy McAvaney, Patrick McAvaney, Caitlin Moffett, and James Moffett; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

To the Dowell Family,
On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Hubert's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and all SUBVETS and their families have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Hubert will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.
