Railroad Conductor
LAKELAND - Ira Jenkins, Lakeland, died of heart failure, Monday, April 30, 2007 at the age of 78.
He was born on January 29, 1929 in Thomasville, Georgia.
Mr. Jenkins was a railroad conductor. He was a Methodist.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Jenkins, Lakeland; son, Wayne Jenkins, Woodstock, Georgia; 2 daughters, Lynn Banks, Jacksonville; Debi Jenkins, Orlando; and 3 grandsons.
Services will be graveside at Oak Hill Burial Park on Thursday, May 3rd at 10:00 AM. Arrangements made by Heath Funeral Chapel.

Ira Jenkins is an inspiration to all of us...to take time to connect with nature, to slow it down a bit, to think before we speak. Bud was a quiet gentle man, a good father and husband. He and Jean share something so rare these days, a strong marriage of 56 years. They show us how it's done.
We will miss him but will remember him when we hear a good melody or hear a fish splash or see a butterfly flutter by.

I will always remember Bud as part of my growing up with Wayne in Tallahassee. For some reason the song "Jermina was a bull frog" brings memories of Bud. My heart goes out to your family. Celebrate his life! I will be looking for butterflys tomorrow.
