My heartfelt condolences to the Pete Family. Mrs. Pete was my third grade teacher and a wonderful teacher she was. I often used many of the lessons I learned from her i when i worked with kids. I always told the students who Mrs. Pete was and what she taught me. She was one of the greatest.

My prayers go out to Mrs Pete and her family and friends. I was a student in her science class at Mulberry Elementary school. I have referenced many things that I learned from her 50 years ago. Everything from people skills to science of the earth. I have to share this. I am an aircraft electrician. Last year I was working on the compass navigation system on an airplane and we had to measure the earths magnetic field around the area where the aircraft was located. The method applied was the same procedures taught to me by Mrs Pete. Back then we took poster board paper and placed a magnet in the center and with a small compass we plotted the magnetic field pattern from each pole of the magnet. We did the same procedure electronically with the airplane. It reminded me of her, I was amazed. Also I had a bit of a learning disability back then and she was the only one that understood and new exactly how to explain things to me. I've had her in my mind ever since then as a reference of how to act towards people. Since the aircraft work that I mentioned earlier I planned to go Mulberry and say hi, visit and thank her for that and her accomplishments as well. Be advised, time doesn't wait on anyone. I'm sorry I never made that trip on time. I will never forget her calling me up to her desk just to chat about everyday things and telling me little stories about her everyday experiences. Like one time during a winter day she told me about how the wind was so strong that morning coming to work that her little car, a volkswagon was all over the road. She made me feel like a person with just the slightest conversation. I love her for that. Her family must be wonderful people. Hello to you all and Mary Brown Pete was a wonderful person.
