Nancy Muntz Obituary

NANCY SUSAN
MUNTZ, 65
Manolitos Restaurant

LAKELAND - Nancy Susan Muntz, 65, passed away on June 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Nancy was born November 7, 1943, to Arthur and Marie Hurlburt, Sr. in Dubuque, Iowa. She moved to Florida in 1973 and took a job working at Manolitos restaurant. She was well liked and respected by all her customers and co-workers and retired after 25 years.
Nancy had such a kind and gentle soul and made friends easily. She enjoyed the beach, her grandchildren, reading, helping others & family get-togethers. She also enjoyed bass fishing and could out fish anyone! Her faith in God was a testimony to her children and she spoke often of the angels in heaven. They know she is now an angel and will be watching over each of them.
She is survived by her children Wade Muntz, James "Jim" (Debbie) Muntz, Dennis (Samantha) Muntz & Susan Muntz all of Florida. Surviving siblings are Ginny Hurlburt of Iowa, Bill (Sandy) Hurlburt of Washington, Jack (Marianne) Hurlburt of Iowa, Bob (Judy) Hurlburt of Wisconsin, Pat Guler of Iowa, Judi (Jerry) Erner of Iowa, Tom (Debbie) Hurlburt of Florida, Jerry (Louise) Hurlburt of Florida and Tami (Mike) Huber of Wisconsin.
Finally, she will be greatly missed by her beloved grandsons Kyle, Cruz, Trevor, Trenton & Baby Jake Muntz and her precious only granddaughter Farrah Muntz all of Florida.
Special thanks to Nancy's niece Dawn Watson & daughter-in-law Samantha Muntz who cared for her during this last year. We appreciate all you have done far more than any words can express and we love you both.

Susie, Dennis, Jim, and Wade- I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a wonderful person and our families spent so much time together when you all were young- our house, your house, just about every Sunday. Those were good years - we could talk forever while the nine of you kids chased, played, talked, laughed, and just were good friends. I have thought of Nancy so many times as the years passed, and regret not keeping up with her these many years, but know that she always held a special place in our lives and also know that she will be watching over each and every one of you. Be strong, smile when you can in this hard time and she will be smiling with you. Love to all of you

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I am not gone, I am changed.
Have faith and please believe me.
God did not take me away from you,
He split the skies and received me.

Now...

I'm an echo in your laughter,
a reflection in your tears,
an extra thread of strength
to help you overcome your fears.

I'm an added ray of sunshine,
more joy for you to share,
a fragrance of the life you live.
Wherever you are - I am there.

Jim, I am sad that I never met your Mom. I know that I would have loved her - any woman who loved bass fishing, boating, the love of her family and friends and faith in the good Lord. May she rest in peace knowing how much she is loved. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family through this very difficult time.

Jim and Family,

You have been touched deeply by the inevitable pain that comes from losing a loved one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We all trust that the sadness you carry will soon become a part of the overarching joy in having had Nancy as a mother and friend. We believe, through her example, she will continue to offer you guidance in your journey.

Nancy was a great person. It is hard to let her go, but knowing she no longer has pain is comforting. She will reside in many people's hearts and live on through their good deeds. She has influenced many and will be greatly missed.

I got the chance to know Nancy really well when she lived with Pat and Loren, right before Loren passed away. Nancy always had a big smile on her face and a hug for me everytime I saw her. I will miss those most of all. May you all find peace at this sad time. I want to share with you a poem:
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
Why cry for a soul set free
MIss me a little, but not too longand not with your head bowed low
MIss mew a little, but let me go
For this journey we all must take and each must go it alone
It is all part of the master's plan
A step on the road to home
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in good deeds
Miss me, But Let Me Go

I am so very saddened to hear of your loss. Nancy was a good friend to me (and all of us) when I worked at the hair salon next door to Manolitos. She always made me laugh. It was an honor to have known her. There was rarely a day when she did not speak of the love she had for her children. My prayers will be with Susie, Jim, Wade, Dennis, Cruz, and all of her family. she will be very missed.

Nancy Muntz a.k.a G-maw a.k.a Grandma was a wonderful lady. I could do no wrong in Grandma's eyes, she was always on my side. I will miss bringing her frosty's in the middle of the night and miss seeing her in the stands at my ball games. Grandma was my number one fan. I think your throat was hoarse after every game haha. She told everybody she taught me how to catch and play ball, and she did. Have a good rest Grandma we will be back together again some day. You are nothing less than an angel.

I love you, your #2
