BARTOW - Roy Dan 'RD' Mitchell, 64, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Roy Dan was born March 30, 1952 in Lakeland, FL. He was a graduate of Montverde Academy. He was a Owner/ Operator of Orangefield Citrus Inc., Interior Citrus Marketing and Double 'R' Brangus. He was a member of the Bartow ARP Church; lifetime member of the NRA, University of Florida Booster and a avid supporter of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Villa Classic Golf Tournament.
Roy Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Stevee Jo; father, W.B. 'Preacher' Mitchell; and three brothers, Jerry, Berry and Scott Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Mitchell; daughter, Kristine Mitchell and son-in-law, Matt McFarlane; son, Roy D. 'Gator' Mitchell, II; grandson, Bryce Mitchell; granddaughter, Ava Mitchell; step son, Roy Perdue (Leslie); sister, Beverly Sue Mitchell.
Family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 5 to 7 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2016 at Bartow First Assembly of God, 915 S. Broadway Ave. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL. Memorials may be made to the Scott Mitchell Football Endowment Fund in care of Gator Boosters Inc., P.O. Box 13796, Gainesville, FL, 32604. Condolences to family at
