RUBY LYONS Obituary
LAKELAND - The Matriarch of our family, Ruby L. Lyons, passed December 6, 2020.
Ms. Lyons retired from the Polk County School Board in 2010, where she drove school buses for 31 years. She also drove for Citrus Connection for 30 years.
Ms. Lyons is survived by daughters Carolyn Lyons-McArthur, Teresa Lyons, Christi Lott; sons Michael Lyons Sr., Robert and Thelma Simmons, Calvin Simmons; sisters Mae Lynn Morris, Rushie Ann Evans; brother Albert (Ledith) Porter; granddaughters: Pamela Lott, Shinna Downing, Corissa Lott, Maletha Lyons, Shavonne Green, Alexus Marlow, Chastay Evans, Mikayla Lyons; grandsons Remardo Lyons Sr., Jaffnea Jackson, Michael Lyons, Jr.; 38 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brothers-in-law O.C. Tillman, Jerry Taylor and Charles Tillman; sister-in-law Tameka Tillman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Fred Lyons; mother Gertrude Moffett; father Eloise Porter; son Ralph Simmons; sisters Willie Mae Porter and Catherine Porter; brothers Willie Porter, Johnnie Porter, Sammie Porter; grandson Dominique Lyons.
Viewing at Cannon Funeral Home, Fri. 5-7pm; service Sat. at 1:30 pm. at Rhema Word of Faith.
