LAKELAND - Terry Witte, 56, of Lakeland, Florida, died, October 31, 2007, of cancer.
Terry was born on June 17, 1951 in Wauchula, Florida and moved to Lakeland approximately in 1975. Terry served in the Vietnam war in 1970 and re-enlisted in the Army to serve and protect our country for an additional five years. Terry was a loving husband and father, and a good friend to all who had the pleasure to know him.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Witte; his two sons, Robert Witte and Christopher Witte, who were born from his prior marriage to Ann; his daughter-in-law, Destiny Witte; his grandchildren, Robbie, Faith, Hope, Chris, Jasmine and Jackie; his mother, M. Elizabeth Williams; his stepfather, James B. Williams; his sisters, Peggy Bianco of Lake Wales and Brenda Shearer of Lakeland, and his brother, David Witte, of Sarasota.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at

my dad was a very good dad and a good freind to everyone who new him and to some that did not know him he still treated them like he has known them for years there will never be another person like my pop..i just hope that one day i turn out to be just as good as he was

Terry was a very special part of my life when I was much younger...my family and the Witte's used to do "EVERYTHING" together! Robbie and Chris are like brothers to me. I will always remember how much Terry laughed and joked around with everyone. My prayers are with his family, as he will be greatly missed.
