Route Salesman
LAKELAND - Vincent DeSena, 83, died 4/19/14 of heart failure.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on Oct 2, he moved to Lakeland in 1991. He was a route salesman for Drakes Cakes. Vinnie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland. He was a master chef, as he thoroughly enjoyed cooking.
He was predeceased by wife Joan, and is survived by special friend, Jeanette Robinson, Lakeland, son Keith (Terri) DeSena, Warrington, PA., daughters Darlene (Jeff) Long, Newtown, PA, Jill (Steve) Helvick, Lakeland, brother Frank (Dolores) DeSena, Haymarket, VA, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Joseph Church in downtown Lakeland, Friday April 25 at 10:00 AM, and a Veterans service at Florida National Cemetery April 25 at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2525 Dranefield Road, Lakeland, FL 33811.

I was sorry to learn of Vinny's passing. My condolences to his family. He and Joan were good friends of my parents and enjoyed a lot of fun times together. Cherish your many memories.

My prayers are with the family during this time. I only knew Mr. DeSena for a few weeks as I took care of him in the hospital, he was such a caring and appreciative person.
