Earl Willich Obituary
Gene is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Genae (Greg) Denver of Manhattan; son Mike (Cindy) Willich of Shawnee, KS; son Corey (Canise) Willich of Lee Summit, Mo. six grandchildren and sister Vanita (Harlen) Hunt of Meriden, KS.
After graduating from Horton High School in 1963, he moved to Topeka where he earned his BS in secondary education from Washburn University. He later received his MA in guidance counseling from University of Kansas and completed additional hours to meet school administration certificates. His education career spanned 41 years as a teacher, coach, counselor, administrator in Sabetha, Topeka, Dodge City, Hutchinson and Wamego.
Outside of work Gene loved spending time with his family, coaching his kids and supporting his grandkids in their various activities. Gene also loved church service and leadership, public address announcing and prison ministry. But the greatest aspect of his adulthood was coming to know Jesus.
Services will be held at University Christian Church, 2800 Claflin Rd. Manhattan, KS on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1 pm. Memorials can be made to University Christian Church, Manhattan Christian College, or Bramlage House-Meadowlark Retirement Community. Memorials may be left in the care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502.
