CONSUELO LEIJA FARIAS EDINBURG - Consuelo Leija Farias, 70, died Saturday, December 5, 2015, at her residence in Edinburg. Born in McAllen, Mrs. Farias had lived in Edinburg all of her life. Consuelo had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed, but will remain in the hearts of those who loved her, as they shall be comforted to know that she is at peace. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vidal Farias. Consuelo is survived by two daughters, Yolanda (Thomas) Zuniga and Claudia Farias, both of Edinburg; four grandchildren; a brother, Ruben Ramirez of McAllen; three sisters, Santa Limas, Guadalupe Limas, Rita Ramirez, all of Edinburg; and her mother, Angelita Ramirez. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. prayer service today, December 6, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
