Donna Leach Obituary

Canyon Lake, Texas - Our beautiful Donna ("Mia") entered into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at her home in Canyon Lake surrounded by her loving husband, daughters and sisters at the age of 67.

Donna was the center of our family and her love, compassion and dedication to all of us filled her every waking moment. Her family was her life and she gave us all the full measure of her devotion.

Born October 6, 1955 in Corsicana, Texas, Donna was a graduate of Mexia High School in 1974. In June, 1987 she, Rex and the girls moved to McAllen where they resided until July, 2020 when they moved to Canyon Lake. During her time in McAllen Donna was a dedicated employee of Frost Bank until her retirement as an Executive Officer of the Bank.

Donna was the consummate hostess and everyone in the McAllen area enjoyed her unmatched gift of hospitality.

Donna loved music especially the songs of Otis Redding, Al Green and Marvin Gaye. She tolerated country music to make her Rex happy!

For many years Donna and Rex travelled annually to Haiti where they worked diligently on behalf of the children of that country through organizations such as Children of the Promise, New Roots Haiti and Second Mile Haiti. Her dedication to children continued here in the United States as she served as a member of the Board of Directors of Christian Homes and Family Services from 2020 until the time of her death.

Donna is survived by her husband, Rex of Canyon Lake; daughters, Candis Gould (Craig) of Firestone, CO, Christie Grisham (Wes) of Dripping Springs, Angel Mitchell of Spring Branch, Katie McCormick (Marlon) of Austin, Sarah DuPree (Patrick) of Dallas; sisters, Patty Cooper (Terry) of Spring Branch, Vicki West (Corey) of Dallas ; and nine grandchildren, Lily, Sophia, Garrick, Olivia, Masina, Isabella, Lola, Hanah, and Grace and many other beloved family and friends.

Visitation and service take place Friday, January 20 at noon and 2 p.m. respectively, at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley, Texas. Interment will follow at Wimberley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Homes and Family Services, 1202 Estates Drive, Abilene, Texas 79602. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, 14700 Ranch Rd 12, Wimberley, TX 78676. For more information and to sign the online registry, please visit thomasonfuneralhome.com.

Saddened to hear of losing Donna; first met her at the bank, would see her occasionally and she always had the world's greatest smile.
