MARIA TERESA "TERRIE" PAEZ EDINBURG - Maria Teresa "Terrie" Paez, 57, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother to be, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Terrie was born in Edinburg, TX and lived there all of her life. She was employed by Edinburg CISD for more than 30 years, where she met many friends and had countless terrific memories, but most importantly, met the love of her life on one fateful day. Due to this chance encounter, Terrie spent the next 34 wonderful years married to Rogelio Paez Sr., who was not only her husband, but also her best friend. Terrie and Rogelio never left each other's side during her lifetime, and many excellent memories came out of a marriage that was sent to them from heaven. Terrie enjoyed many things in life, and loved to be with her family, no matter what the circumstances were. She loved being by her sons, Rogelio Paez Jr. and Raymond Paez, through all of their lives most major and minor decisions, and cherished them more than anything in this world. She truly was a one-of-kind mother and will always be remembered for being her two boys' best friend, always being there through thick and thin with them, and was proud to have raised two great men. Terrie loved to be with her husband and boys no matter where they went. She loved barbecuing at her home, enjoyed going hunting at the deer lease, spending family vacations at Long Island Village in Port Isabel, and loved to take her family deep sea fishing. More memories than one could ever imagine were made at these places, and she will always be remembered for the good times that were shared by all who were around her. These good times will forever leave a lasting impression on us and will ALWAYS bring a smile to our hearts. She is preceded in death by a sister, Imelda Casas; and her parents, Abundio and Lydia Casas. Mrs. Paez is survived by her husband, Rogelio Paez, of Edinburg; two sons, Rogelio Paez, Jr. and Raymond Paez, both of Edinburg; five sisters, Linda (Jaime) Smith, of Beeville, TX, Cecilia (Juan) Abrego, of Edinburg, Norma (Fred) Mireles, of Grand Prarie TX, Alma (Rod) Tijerina, of McKinney, TX, Diana Casas, of Edinburg; and a brother, Rolando (Nora) Casas, of Pharr. Pallbearers will be Rogelio Paez Jr., Raymond Paez, Ramiro Paez Jr., Roy Pimentel, Pablo Mendez, and David Brady. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 17, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
