Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Salinas Family and friends. Mrs. Salinas was truly a loving and caring individual and will be greatly missed. Her son Miguel "Mike" Salinas is very close friend of mine and he truly reflects these same traits, as well as Mike's entire family. I had the pleasure to meet both Mr. & Mrs. Salinas in Mercedes, TX many years ago, and have very fond memories as result. Especially Mrs. Salinas on a past business trip to the RGV welcomed me as if one of her own children is my favorite memory! Blessings from Houston our hearts are with you all!!

Father,
You hold time within your hands, and see it all, from beginning to end. Please keep and carry Ninfa Salinas' precious family and friends in their sadness and loss. Cover them with your great wings of love, give their weary hearts rest and their minds sound sleep. Lord, lift their eyes so that they may catch a glimpse of eternity, and be comforted by the promise of heaven.
We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus.
Amen

Gary and I extend our deepest sympathies to the Salinas family during this difficult time following the passing of your cherished matriarch. Diana and I had the privilege of working alongside each other at Communities In Schools of Houston for more than three decades until she retired. Diana was a passionate advocate for education, tirelessly working to dismantle the obstacles that prevented children from accessing quality learning opportunities and achieving mobility in our society. Diana often recounted delightful tales of her upbringing as the sole daughter among devoted brothers and nurturing parents. Mrs. Salinas will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Diana´s CIS family.

Tia was one of a kind. She was present in our lives during times of overwhelming grief and abundant joy. She opened her home to me when I would drive down to the RGV to get Dad to his doctor appointments and treatments. She offered words of wisdom and faith as my parents and brothers transitioned from this world to the next. She delighted us with stories of her childhood, her and Tio's love story, and her observations of the human condition. I was in awe of her sense of identity, her sense of sly humor, her profound faith, her unconditional love for her family, and her understanding of duty and service. She loved the city and the people of Mercedes. Her passing is bittersweet. I will miss our conversations.

Tía Ninfa was there for every beautiful, happy, sad and bittersweet moments in my life. She shared her wisdom as I saw my own parents and brothers transition from this world. She opened her home to us, when I had to go to the RGV to get dad to his doctor appointments and treatments. I was in awe of her strong sense of self, her sense of humor, her deep rooted faith, her sense of service to others, and her no nonsense way of being. She deeply loved Tío Rigo, her children, her siblings, and the family. She loved the town and people of Mercedes. I will miss our deep conversations about life, love, and family.
