ROMANA CASTILLO Obituary

ROMANA S. CASTILLO SAN JUAN - Romana S. Castillo, 88, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Comfort House in McAllen. Mrs. Castillo was born in La Presita, Villa De Guadalupe, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and had lived in San Juan since 1972. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvaro Castillo; a grandson, Jairo Ivan Castillo; mother-in-law, Gregoria Alvarez Castillo; two brothers, Eusebio Salinas, Anastacio Salinas; and a sister, Prima Salinas. Romana is survived by six children, Tiburcio (Manuela) Castillo, Irma (Pedro) Gonzalez, both of San Juan, Candido (Aida) Castillo, of Mission, Araceli (Jose Guadalupe) Peña, of Donna, Eunice (Gilberto) Rivera, of San Juan, Veronica (Jerry) Ramirez, of Edinburg; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pancracio Salinas, of California; and a sister, Juanita Salinas, of Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico. A rosary was held Monday, May 20, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, May 21, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Sign the guest book at www.themonitor.com/obituaries
