Ruben is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Emilio and Manuel Garcia Jr.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his two children, Ruben Garcia Jr. and Ruby Garcia De La Fuente; four step-children Aydee Castillo, Danny Montes, Eddie Montes, and Juan Carlos Montes; five grandchildren, Ruben Miguel Garcia, Jack Connell-Garcia, Jimm Connell-Garcia, Jonathan A. De La Fuente II, and Hunter R. De La Fuente; eight siblings; Roberto O. Garcia, Ramiro Garcia, Reynaldo Garcia, Elva G. Garcia, Minerva Garcia, Olga Mendoza, Belinda Loza, and Elia Mata.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Monday September 19, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am Tuesday September 20, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg with military honors performed by V.F.W. Post 8788 of McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
