Renate Curry Obituary
Renate B. Curry, 82, of Vine Grove, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, who unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in her home with family by her side. "We are heart broken."
Renate married the love of her life, Arthur B. Curry "Art", nearly 63 years ago; they were inseparable from that day forward. Being the ultimate optimist, adventurer and her love of life made every day an adventure or opportunity. Anything and everything was possible; she wasn't going to miss a second of it. There was nothing she couldn't or wouldn't attempt and conquer.
An entrepreneur and artist by nature, she embarked on several successful ventures throughout the years. Most notably, with support from Art, she opened Renate B.'s Ceramics in 1974. She was the heart, soul and workforce of this successful business in Radcliff for 43 years. There she expressed her artistic self and allowed others to do the same, while still managing all other aspects of family life. Her work, art and influence crossed state lines and continents. All who met her or knew her loved her.
Her greatest success and gift was being herself. Comfortable in her own skin, she could talk to anyone and make them feel at ease. The matriarch of our family, filled with tenacity, wit, charm, undying love and caring for all - unmatched in her strength and attitude - she stood fearlessly toe to toe with anyone at any level. A rare combination, she cherished every moment of life and also firmly understood that which is truly important - the simplicity of living and embracing life with those you love, enjoying all of the little things in life and having fun doing it. Most of all she adored her husband; and she was very proud of her family. She enjoyed holidays and family celebrations were very important to her. She instilled in her five daughters and grandchildren strong ethics, values and life skills to carry with them. And she did it all while looking like a model having beauty, grace, style and stunning blue eyes. She was just a good person. She was just plain fun.
She was a gentle, beautiful soul and quite brilliant. Hers was a life so beautifully lived. The world was a far better place with her in it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Anna Winter Muller; and a daughter, Jutta Curry.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Arthur; four daughters, Angelika (Ronnie), Renate (Ron), Anna (Gary) and Doris; eight grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and an untold number of friends throughout the world.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, appreciate that special woman in your life.
