Raymond Nicholson Obituary

NICHOLSON, RAYMOND J., Jr.; a lifetime resident of Rochester Hills; passed away and entered eternal life on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Ray was born on August 29, 1955 and graduated from Rochester Adams High School in 1973. He started his college education in south Florida. After returning to Rochester, Ray pursued his career in the auto detail and wash business opening and running three car washes in the Rochester area. An avid car collector, Ray attended and participated in many car shows and Concours d'Elegance events around the world. Ray's love for the GM's 1963 Corvette Split Window is the heart of where his fondness for everything automotive began. Much more than his understanding of museum quality vehicles, however, the love of family and friends, and his big heart and generous spirit was what made Ray so special. Generously supporting various organizations and charities through contributions and his time is just one of the ways Ray will never be forgotten. Ray is survived by his wife, Kris; sons, Stephen (Laura) and Will; parents, Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Carrick Nicholson; brothers, Michael (Christine) and James (Mary) Nicholson; sister, Cynthia (Robert) Raymond; 18 nieces and nephews; and 6 great nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 2, 2013, 10 a.m. with a 9:30 In State at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester, MI. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday, July 31, 2013, 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, August 1, 2013, 1 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion, MI. Private Interment VanHoosen Jones Cemetery, Rochester Hills. Suggested memorials to the National Corvette Museum, or Older Persons' Commission. Online condolences

To the Entire Nicholson Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting the Nicholson family, a more kind, welcoming and genrerous bunch of people would be hard to find. Ray Jr., was kind and giving man who joyously shared his passions with those who cam in contact with him. Rest Peacefully Ray. Thoughts and prayers are with the family. I am sorry, I didn't hear of this news in a more timely manor.
Peace.
