BAXTER, RICK W.;
He was born in April of 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY the son of Robert and Gloria Baxter. Mr. Baxter was a graduate of Tri State University and also Niagara University. He was a dedicated forty-year employee with General Motors Corporation. In 2008, Mr. Baxter realized a professional goal of an international assignment with General Motor Corp. in Shanghai, China.
He worked and lived there along with his wife Bonnie until the time of his diagnosis in September of 2008. Mr. Baxter is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Bonnie Baxter; their children Matthew (Jackie) Baxter and Karen (Dante) Delbeke; and grandchildren Nathan Baxter and Daegan Delbeke; Rick was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two new grandchildren in late 2009; he is also survived by his parents, Robert and Gloria Baxter, of Niagara Falls, NY; his brothers, Mark (Suzanne) and Donald (Peg) Baxter; several nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Ruth Prindle.
Mr. Baxter was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Meghan Baxter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 2, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Keehn Funeral Home,
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Baxter will be Interred at Fairview Cemetery in Brighton, MI at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed toward your local Habitat for Humanity at habitat.org or to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital Childhood Cancer and Bone Marrow Transplant Centers c/o the University of Michigan Health System. The Baxter family has a Remembrance Registry that they welcome you to visit.
