Edward McLoughlin Obituary

Edward Alphoso McLoughlin

September 12, 1938 - February 15, 2025

Tacoma, Washington - Edward Alphoso McLoughlin, 86, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington.

Born on September 12, 1938, Edward pursued his education at All Hallows College in Dublin, Ireland, where he was ordained as a priest. As a young man, he moved to the United States to serve in his vocation. Later in life, he transitioned from the priesthood and dedicated many years to working for child protective services, where he made a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Tina Fuller. He is also survived by his brother Michael McLoughlin (Maura), and sisters Frances Bane (Liam) and Maresa, all residing in Ireland. He cherished his many nieces and nephews and made it a priority to visit them at least once a year.

A devoted scholar of theology throughout his life, Edward remained deeply connected to his Irish roots. He loved Ireland dearly and often spoke of how much he missed home.

Service details will be announced at a later date. Edward will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.

I met (Father) Ed McLoughlin when he served the Sunnyside WA community at St. Joseph parish when he first moved to the states. My parents had him over many times for dinner. We all enjoyed our time with him. May he rest in peace.
