Sandra Mary Senna

Olympia, Washington - Sandra Senna passed away peacefully on the morning of August 21st, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Seattle, Washington, to Bill and Helen Jones in 1935, Sandra's early years on Capitol Hill were formative, leading her to two years at Garfield High School and graduation from St. Nicholas School in 1953. Her academic journey continued at the University of Washington, where she embraced sorority life as a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Marriage to James Senna saw her nurturing a family of four in Olympia, WA, where she also pursued her love for skiing, a sport she enjoyed well into her 70s, always taking advantage of every opportunity to spend time with her kids in the mountains. Sandra's interests included gardening, knitting, and playing bridge. Sandra spent much of her life in downtown Olympia, working at Talcott Jewelers and Drees of Olympia. She considered her coworkers as a second family. Her commitment to community service is evident in her lifelong membership with the Genevieve Henry Seattle Children's Guild and her role as a docent at the Governor's Mansion, showcasing her dedication to civic duty and her love for her home state. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Helen, and two brothers, James and Ted Jones. She is survived by her children Susan Lindskog (Blake), Sarah Senna (Greg), Stephen Senna (Karin), and David Senna. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Torie, Gunnar, Dana, Willem, Sophia, Olivia and Roan. In memory of her cherished life, a donation can be made in her name to the Genevieve Henry Guild to support the Seattle Children's Hospital. A memorial service will be held on November 8th at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church.
