Stephen R. Berndt
April 13, 1943 - June 6, 2023
Olympia, Washington - Stephen Randolph Berndt, also known by many as "Steve", "Stevo", "Steve O'Rino", "Stevee", and "Pickles" passed away in Olympia WA on June 6th, 2023, at the age of 80. Steve was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Edith Berndt, his father, Harvey Berndt, his brother Paul Berndt, and sister, Brenda Berndt. Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Marina Berndt, his three children, Todd Berndt, Jennifer Berndt, Victor Berndt, his step-son Alexi Lissounov, his granddaughter, Raven Berndt, his brother Tom Berndt, and the family dog, Axel. Steve was born on April 13th, 1943 and raised on Naches Heights, WA and later as a young man, served in the Marine Corp. Steve eventually made his way to the greater Puget Sound area where he raised his family and went on to develop and run a successful shellfish business, called Sea Fresh Farms. Steve was a member of the Shelton Bowling League for many years and bowled professionally. Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of people, optimism, love of baseball, and his fuller than life charm. For those wishing to honor Steve's life, there will be a service at the Holy Family Catholic Church: 5315 Tieton Drive, Yakima, WA 98908 on Friday August 4th, 2023 at 10am, followed by a reception at the church. There will also be a Celebration of Life on Saturday September 16th, 2023 at 2pm at the home of Steve and Marina Berndt in Olympia, WA.
