Kathy McDowell Obituary

WOODLAND - Kathy M. McDowell, 67, of Woodland, died on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Penn Highlands, DuBois.

Born on Dec. 27, 1953 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Gill) Showers. She married Paul I. McDowell on Sept. 28, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives at home.

She was a member of the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport.

Kathy was previously employed as a notary for 17 years with Weisgarber Auto Sales in Clearfield and as a tax preparer with H&R Block in Philipsburg. She currently owned and operated her own business, McDowell Notary and Taxes in Woodland. She was a 1971 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Mills High School.

She enjoyed camping, boating, riding ATVs and numerous other outdoor activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Eugene Knepp, Charles Wills and John Taylor Sr.; and one brother, Charles Showers.

Along with her husband, she is survived by three sons, Steve Knepp and his wife Valerie of Wallaceton, David Wills and his wife Jennifer of Morrisdale, and John "Jack" Taylor Jr. and his wife Jolene of Osceola Mills; two brothers, Sam Showers and his wife Helen of Osceola Mills, and Kenneth Showers of Clearfield; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at 6 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Chris Pfleegor officiating. Burial will be at Bradford Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
