Michael Eugene Pentz

Michael Eugene Pentz, 70, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, succumbed to cancer at his home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
Mike is survived by his wife Susan of 46 years, daughter Erika Pentz Fortney (Kevin), son Craig Pentz (Elizabeth), and his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kevin and Michael, and mother-in-law Marylee Kneisley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Rosalie Pentz. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
Mike was born in Waynesboro, Pa., and graduated from WASH in 1965. He attended HJC where he received his Master Electricians License through ABC. He served in the United States Air Force (1966-1970), returned home to start his own business, and later worked at St. Lawrence Cement until his retirement. Mike was a lover of the outdoors and an avid hunter, fisherman and baseball player. He was always there to help friends and family, coached baseball and was active in Mont Alto Youth programs.
The family will be holding a private ceremony per his request. In lieu of flowers, they have set up a memorial fund in his name with the Four Diamonds Foundation whose mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research.
