Hazel Hartman Obituary

HAZEL (FRICK) HARTMAN Hazel (Frick) Hartman, long-time Lansdale resident, beloved wife of Dr. Paul G. Hartman, Jr. for the last 66 years, died Tuesday, May 8, 2014 at the age of 88. Hazel grew up in North Wales graduating from North Wales High School in 1943, where she lettered in field hockey, was captain of the cheerleading squad and editor of the Norwalian. Hazel enjoyed playing golf with her family and loved playing tennis. She was an avid bridge player whose candor and camaraderie was enjoyed by her many friends. During the 1960s and 1970s, Hazel was a passionate member and president of the North Penn League of Women Voters and a Sunday school teacher at St. John's United Church of Christ. She loved her gardens and gardening. In addition to her husband, Hazel is survived by her sister, Lillie Nelson; sons Earl, Paul and Jeff; grandchildren Kelly, Kalen, Jake, Ross, Will, Tyler, and Gail; and great granddaughter Maryah. Hazel was a wonderful grandmother, much loved by her grandchildren. Since October, Hazel resided at The Lutheran Community At Telford where she danced until she died. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 7PM on Tuesday, May 13, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack, where family will receive friends from 5-6:45PM. Interment will be private. For those desiring, contributions may be made in her memory to St. John's United Church of Christ, 500 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446, or to The Rotary Foundation, 14280 Collection Center Dr., Chicago, IL 60693. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.RLWilliamsFuneralHome.com.

I will miss Aunt Hazel. She was one of a kind and an amazing Aunt! I have so many beautiful and happy memories of her! I will cherish all of them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sadness and grief. May the Lord bless you with peace and comfort as you mourn.

I will always remember Mrs. Hartman as a wonderful Sunday School teacher when PJ and I were in grade school. We would sing in class, and Mrs. Hartman always allowed the boys to choose whatever songs we desired.

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Hazel's passing away and want you to know we are grieving with you. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. How wonderful that we got to visit with her last year. We are currently traveling in Texas and will not be able to attend the service. We send our love to all of you.
