Ray Godshall Obituary

RAY GODSHALL Ray W. Godshall, 79, of Lansdale, passed away August 23, 2012 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis E. (Koder) Godshall. Born June 10, 1933 in Souderton, he was a son of the late Willard and Esther (Moyer) Godshall. A 1951 graduate of Quakertown High School, he began working at Longacre Poultry in 1955, in the plant and retail poultry business before retiring in 1998. He was a long time member of Plains Mennonite Church where he served as an usher for 6 years. He was also on the fellowship committee. Above all else, however, he will be remembered for being a most loving husband and father who most enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He always had a good sense of humor, regardless of the circumstances. He will be missed by many. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brian R. Godshall, Christina C. Wrubleski, and Caroline P. Miller and her husband, Bill; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Arden Godshall of Vancouver, WA, Rodney Godshall, of Dusseldorf, Germany, Philip Godshall, of Lansdale, and Donald Godshall, of Half Moon Bay, CA; and many loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Godshall. The memorial service will be held 11AM Tuesday Aug. 28, at Plains Mennonite Church, 50 W. Orvilla Rd., Hatfield, where relatives and friends may greet the family from 10AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray's memory to the Cancer Support Community, 4100 Chamounix Dr., Philadelphia, PA 19131. Arrangements are by Huff & Lakjer, Lansdale.
