Raymond Simmonds Obituary

RAYMOND SIMMONDS, JR. Raymond R. Simmonds, Jr., 69, of Lansdale, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Abington Hospital after a long illness. He was the retired owner of Rays Pizzeria in Lansdale, the business which his son still operates. Mr. Simmonds, Jr., was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Raymond and the late Concetta Carbone Simmonds. Ray was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick H.S. and a member of their football team. He then entered the U.S.Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Ray was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lansdale. His hobbies included fishing, cooking on his grill and being an avid Eagles fan. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mack Simmonds; three daughters, Tina Sokolowski (Ray) of Conshohocken, Krista Buchert (Jim) of Boyertown, and Stacie Moseley (Christopher) of Lansdale; a son, Raymond Simmonds III (Amy) of Lansdale; a sister; Michele Jacquot of Barto; two brothers, Vincent Simmonds of Lansdale, and Michael Spagnolia of Lower Frederick; and10 grandaughters, Emily, Jessica, Haley, Rachel, Jamie, Olivia, Kyleigh, Sadie, Kathryn and Lauren. Friends may call Tuesday, December 13 from 9 to 11AM at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Rosenfeld Cancer Center, c/o Abington Hospital, 1200 Old York Rd. Abington, PA 19001. So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. He was my boss at Trailmobile many, many years ago. Most decent supervisor I ever had. I remember seeing him many times later at Pudge's. Best wishes to Ray's family.
