Pearl DeFriese

1931 - 2014

Pearl DeFriese, of Rolla, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the age of 83.
Pearl was born in Stockport, England on August 4, 1931, to the late George and Mary (Cunningham) Slack.
On December 6, 1952, Pearl married Ted W. DeFriese who preceded her in death August 8, 2005.
Pearl attended the First Assembly of God in Rolla. She had a great love for animals. She was a supporter of Friends for Animals, and was an advocate for the American Society for Prevention and Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA.)
In addition to her parents and husband, Pearl was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Wood and Georgina Messner, and one brother, Gordon Slack.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her son, Brian DeFriese and wife Karen of Rolla, MO; her daughter, Andrea Baldwin and husband David of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Sara-Jane Renata Pearl DeFriese, Gabriel Ryan David Baldwin, Jesse DeFriese, and Jordon Landon Reed Baldwin; special friend, Janet Gordon of Rolla; other extended family members and many dear friends.
A graveside funeral service for Pearl DeFriese will be conducted at 2:00 pm., Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Thomas-Fairview Cemetery in rural Rolla.
A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Wednesday beginning at noon at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Rolla Animal Shelter or the Tri-County Humane Society, located in St. James.
