PINCKNEYVILLE -- Retired U.S. Army Special Forces Command Sgt. Maj. (CSM) John F. Pioletti, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, in Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla.

CSM Pioletti was born Oct. 3, 1925, and proudly served more than 31 years in the patriotic service of his country. His military service began during World War II as a paratrooper in the Pacific Theater and culminated with duty in charge of all Green Beret enlisted personnel in 10th Group, whose mission and capabilities are among the most complex in the world.
