Phillip Gendeman Obituary

MARION - Phillip R. Gendeman, 84, passed away at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in Marion Rehab and Nursing.

He was born March 29, 1929, in Hinsdale to Phillip and Jeanette (Grimmenga) Gendeman. He married Irene Krass and was a devoted husband for 63 years.

Phillip was a talented musician and craftsman. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Gendeman; daughters, René Palassis and husband, Teddy, and Wendy Statkus and husband, Ron; granddaughters, Victoria Statkus, Erin Bolen and husband, Josh, and Krista Hallbom and husband, James; great-grandchildren, Ashton Hallbom, Jayce Bolen and Skylar Hallbom; and sister, Joyce Lang and husband, Ron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George and Richard; and sister, Marion.

Services will be at a later date. According to his wishes, Phillip will be cremated.

Memorial donations are suggested to Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home, 1704 N. Court St., Marion, IL 62959.
