Delisa Yvonne Shaw-Malone

Muncie - Delisa Yvonne Shaw-Malone, 57, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Lisa, as she was affectionately known, was born to Elliott and Anita (Douglas) Shaw on July 8, 1960. She was raised in Detroit, Michigan by her grandmother Sylvania Shaw and uncle Jesse Shaw who she lovingly referred to as mom and dad. Lisa attended school in Detroit, graduating in 1978. Later she continued her education when she returned to Muncie earning an associate degree in business from Harrison College and also obtaining an Employability Skills Benchmark certificate from Work One. She was employed by Jarden Corporation.

A social butterfly, Lisa never met a stranger. She was a believer and accepted Christ at an early age. Lisa loved to travel, cook, shop and entertain, she and husband Jeff were the perfect hosts. Every moment spent with her children and grandchildren were treasured.

She leaves to cherish her husband Jeffrey Malone, sons; Carlos Montford of Michigan City, IN and Elliott Shaw (Stacey) Harris of Columbus, GA, daughters; Monique Kinnaird of Columbus, GA and Mercedes Roberts of Texas, sisters; Marlena (Craig) Shaw-Bailey of Muncie, IN, Cherish Delaney of Canton, OH, and Robin Shaw of Ft. Wayne, IN, father-in-law, Carl Malone of Muncie, IN, sister-in-law Sondra Darlene (R.C.) Kelly of Belleville, IL, brothers-in-law; Carl (Vivian) Malone and Troy Malone both of Muncie, IN, James (Vicki) Malone of Albuquerque, NM, five grandchildren; J'kayla, A'mya and Kamryn Kersey, Mo'Neai Kinnaird and Ceria Montford, special cousins; Karen Kersey, Reginald Kersey and Carl Kersey and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elliott and Anita Shaw, sister; Marcella Douglas, paternal grandparents; Phillip and Sylvania Shaw, maternal grandparents; Elmer and Estelle Douglas, uncles; Jesse Shaw, Richard Shaw and Elmer Cornell Douglas and aunts; Mary Kersey and Melba Jean Douglas.

Services to honor her life will be held at noon on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Mt. Zion (Zion City) 820 South Penn Street, Muncie, IN. Family visitation will be at 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Services entrusted to Carmichael Funeral Services, Ft. Wayne, IN.
