Lily York Obituary
Muncie - Lily Rose York, 77, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 6, 2017, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on October 26, 1939, in Muncie, the daughter of, Isaac and Lillian Ross (Williamson) Reading.
Lily married the love of her life William Edward York in 1957, in Muncie and he preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. York had been a homemaker and was a member of the River of Life Church where she had taught Sunday school years ago. She enjoyed being with her family every opportunity she could.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Burkett (husband-Steven), Yorktown and Teresa Camacho (husband-Armando), Anderson; one son, Michael York (wife-Cherlyn), Yorktown; seven grandchildren, Melissa Grass (husband-Louis) Steven Burkett II (wife-Courtney), Jennifer Burkett, Samuel Hinds, Andrew Hinds (fiancé-Kierstin, Joshua York and Jacob York; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Crystal Lipscomb and Hilda Wagoner (husband- Theodore), both of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor John Eric Reading officiating. Burial will follow at the Hawk Cemetery in Yorktown.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Monday evening, April 10, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
