The William's Family,
Although I did not know Brett personally, my daughter Abigail had the honor of just knowing him around White Knoll Schools and sharing some classes with him. Words can not express how sorry we are for your loss. White Knoll High School has lost a bright and shining star. Being in the Timberwolf family means being part of a very close family and when one family is grieving we all grieve. God welcomed a bright shining angel into heaven. We will see him again very soon.
Praying for your family everyday.

I am Mrs. Tammy Hughes Anthony Allen Hughes mother. I never knew brett, but that doesn't matter. My son Anthony Allen Hughes is his friend. I'd like to say thank you to Brett and his family for raising a young man who stood up for him when he was being bullied. Brett stood up to the people for Anthony we often think what we do affects no one but ourselves. The opposite is true. May Jesus, our Lord bless the family, friends who loved him. Thank you Williams family may God bless and His peace flood your hearts forever.

I do not know you or your family, but you losing your son to the flu broke my heart for you. I too have two sons who played baseball and yours reminded me of my boys when they used to play. We lived at either a ball park or practice field. I cherish those memories. Hold tight to your faith and know that he is in a good place with good people and more importantly Jesus...I feel sure there is a pick up game there or two...with a bunch of kids with muddy pants and scruffy hair sliding around bases..laughing and having a blast...while we all fall apart down here...but he will be the first face you will see when you get to heaven..

So sorry, the pain of missing a child feels like to much to bear at times. But God will help comfort you each time you feel you can't bear it, just ask Jesus, he knows your pain and will help you, don't forget to ask. I loss a child at a early age and feel some much pain when I here of a family that is going through the loss of a child. If I didn't have God to ask for help I don't know what I would have done. He is so wonderful to be our comforter. God will let you know Brett is ok.

You do not know me, and our paths may never cross, but I heard about your son "Brett", in the news. It was on my heart to light a candle and send a message to you. My heart and prayers goes out to your family during this difficult time. It's hard when we lose love ones as a lot of us know. From what I read here and looking at his pictures, I can tell and feel he was a fine young man. The Lord Blessed you to have Him for 16 wonderful years. May your memories be of a great source of comfort to you all. Most of all may The Lord Carry you through this trying time. Every time you feel the pain go ahead and grieve. Grieving is a part of the healing process. That is the way God meant for it to be. Please stay close as a family, always support each other. God has a plan and He has a purpose. Acts 2:38.

Nathan, our hearts are truly broken for you and your family. There are no words that could comfort you at a time like this. I have read all the other notes in the guest book and am truly in awe of what an extraordinary young man he was. You and Laurie must have been extremely proud of him. I just have to believe in the promise that you will be with him again one day in Heaven. Hoping God will comfort you all as you go forth in the days ahead. I know Mom & Daddy took the news very hard as well. You know they always loved you very much and so enjoyed seeing your beautiful family each year in the Christmas cards Laurie would send. I was heartbroken to hear of the loss of Brett and what a difficult time it is for your family and his many friends. I was Brett's 7th Grade Math teacher. He was such a pleasure to teach. He was a little shy at the beginning of the school year and math was not his favorite subject. I think he was a little scared of me too! He and I spent many mornings together and he not only gained his confidence in math, he became more outgoing and had a great sense of humor. In 41 years of teaching middle school, few students stood out like Brett. He was always so well mannered and always did his very best. God has blessed you with an amazing son. I'm so sad that God needed him in Heaven. Brett touched a lot of lives, including mine, in his short time here. No words can be expressed to lessen your pain, I pray God gives you strength and comfort while going through this most difficult journey.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams,

I don't know you, and I'm sure our paths will never cross, but your son has made such an impact on people in our state, and he didn't know many of them. I know you are struggling to find a reason for what has happened, but only God knows the reasons why we go through these storms in life. I hope that you knowing that your son has touched so many people in his short time on this earth, brings comfort to you both. Many have heard your story, and are grieving with you. May you find comfort in the coming days, months and years ahead. May you still find comfort in God, and comfort in knowing that your son is now healed and celebrating his homecoming with our savior.

God bless you and your family.

As a fellow White Knoll schoolmate, I was shocked to hear the news of his passing. To be the same age as him put a lot of things in perspective. Brett lived a tremendously great, God driven, and loving life. He was an inspiration to many people, including all of us (like myself) at White Knoll. His athleticism was out-of-this-world. He could light up a room with his personality, and always make a person feel welcomed. He acted as a student ambassador, and a servant of God all the way. His work ethic and love for others and Christ was what led him to touch so many such as myself. I don't grieve for the loss of a fellow classmate, a partner, or a fellow worshiper of God, but I celebrate with joy that he has moved on to be closer to God, fulfill his dream, and start the new chapter of his life, which he was always guaranteed. May he rest in everlasting paradise!
