Edward Younginer Obituary

Edward Monroe Younginer, Jr. COLUMBIA - Services for Edward Monroe Younginer, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church. Interment will be private for the family at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that all donations be made to Irmo Fire District, 6017 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Mr. Younginer died September 14, 2018, at The Brian Center, as a result of advanced dementia. He was born on November 7, 1926 in Irmo, South Carolina. I met Ed when I worked for SCE&G years ago. What a kind, gentle gracious man he was. I would run into him on occasion and found he was just the same as he was when he drove the gas truck. What a rich life he had. At our last meeting he shared about his church and how blessed and happy he was there. Very thankful to have known him. May God comfort your hearts with wonderful memories and the knowledge he knew Jesus as Saviour. Betty Price

What a dear man your dad was! He was a cousin to our mother, Helen Shealy Derrick (whose mother was the daughter of Emory Younginer). He always greeted us with a sweet smile and hug. Know he was loved by many! We loved being his 'cousin'! Our hearts and prayers are with you at this time.
