James Sizemore Obituary

James Everett Sizemore IRMO - A funeral service for Master Sgt. James Everett Sizemore (Ret.), will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday February 27, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be the Young Citizen's Bowling League. Mr. Sizemore passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Warren Sizemore and Frances Westmoreland Sizemore. He was raised in Anderson by his grandmother, Julia Durham Sizemore Lollis and attended Boys High School in Anderson. He retired from the U.S. Army following 22 years of service, including 11 years in Europe and one year in Vietnam. Mr. Sizemore graduated summa cum laude from Shephard College, Shephardstown, WV, in 1981 receiving his degree in accounting. He retired from the Department of Health and Environmental Control in 1993. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He was an avid lover of golf and bowling and was a member of the Young Citizen's Bowling League at Anchor Lanes. Over the years, he coached and played on many softball teams. He was a member of Equality Masonic Lodge #44 in Martinsburg, WV. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia "Jenny" Jones Sizemore; children, Stefanie (Tim) Vandiver, Marcie (Dan) Cramsey, Chris Sizemore; brother, Donald (Louise) Sizemore; grandchildren, Emily Vandiver, James Ross "JR" Vandiver, Chasity (Hector) Vandiver Gonzelez, Matthew Cramsey, Ashley (Evan) Hall, Nicholas Cramsey, Scott Cramsey; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Timmy Gonzelez; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Lexington Medical Center for their loving care over the past five weeks.
