I met Mr Dunbar long before I became a police officer for the City of Columbia. Growing up he was "the funeral man".
As I worked thru being a beat cop and finally on road patrol, I was able to escort funerals for Dunbar Funeral Home. I got to know Mr Dunbar and eventually his family and was happy to learn that his daughters would follow in his footsteps.
Mr Dunbar was always polite and quite the gentleman as he talk to us as if he knew us for years (well he did know my family and I for a long time) he loved hearing about our "war stories" sometimes his face would turn red but he would always burst out laughing.
Mr Dunbar will be sorely missed by me and the law enforcement community that assisted with the escorts.
I´m sorry for the loss but know that Mr John is laughing himself red in the face as he is welcomed by the many people he himself has help get to heaven.
