Deborah Pierce Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" L. (Bottalico) Pierce, 70, of North Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence on August 23, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond "Ray" Robert Pierce who died on December 8, 2018, and whom she married on August 7, 1976.

Born on September 2, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Louis Joseph Bottalico and the late Gertrude Mae (Allen) Bottalico.

Debbie was a graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and earned her L.P.N. certification from the Beverly (MA) School of Nursing and her associate degree from the Community College of Rhode Island in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

She dedicated and devoted her professional career to helping others through nursing.  Debbie was a staff nurse at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, worked for the Community Visiting Nurse Agency, served as director of nursing for area skilled nursing homes, she was the executive director and regional director of clinical services for Emeritus Senior Living covering Massachusetts and New York and was the RN case manager and district director of clinical services for Brookdale Senior Living having served the states of Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Rhode Island.  She was responsible for ensuring the communities' clinical adherence to company policies, procedures, and state regulations. Last, Debbie was deeply committed to the fellow nurses she worked with and the communities she served, and was known for her passionate advocacy on behalf of residents and their families.

A resident of Attleboro Falls for the past 45 years, she previously resided in her native community of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She enjoyed travelling with her husband especially to the Caribbean islands.  She enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles, keeping up on current events and local news, spending time in the sun at her backyard pool, making her house a home and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

She and Ray loved spending time at their cottage on Roy Carpenter's beach in Matunuck, RI, but more than anything, she loved being with her family.

Debbie was the best friend and sister of Gloria A. Solomon, wife of the late Robert C. Solomon, of Norton, MA; was the loving aunt of Chad R. Solomon and his wife, Amy L. (Ashworth) Solomon, of North Attleboro, MA and Bret C. Solomon of North Attleboro, MA and was the cherished great aunt of Sophie Solomon of North Attleboro, MA. She also leaves several extended family members and dear friends.

The world lost a compassionate angel. We were blessed to have Debbie as a director at Canterbury years ago. Our mother was living there and formed a very close friendship with her. She made her feel so special and showed so much love to her. Rest in Peace and know what a difference you made!
