Patricia Marie Bishop, 81, a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald A. Bishop, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on May 16, 2024.
Born on September 15, 1943, in Attleboro, Pat was the devoted daughter of the late Wilbur L. Weldon and Helen J. (Daveau) Weldon. She grew up in North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1961. During her high school years, she worked at a downtown drug store, where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Ron.
Pat held various positions throughout her career, including working alongside her father at Mason Box in Attleboro Falls, as a secretary for the law offices of Ron Bray (North Attleboro) and P.B. Smith (Attleboro), and later as a banker at Old Stone Bank in Providence, which eventually became Bank of America. She retired as a Trust Officer from Bank of America in 2009.
A devout Catholic, Pat was an active parishioner at Saint Mark's Church in Attleboro Falls where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was deeply involved in the ECHO community, CCD teaching, and the Cursillo Movement at LaSalette Shrine. Her commitment to community extended to organizing her high school reunions and serving on the board for Sunset Acres Senior Community in Plainville, the Pond Home in Wrentham, and the SHINE council. She also dedicated much of her time to volunteer work for the American Diabetes Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Pat's generosity knew no bounds. She supported countless charitable causes and was always ready to help others, treating many friends as family. Known for her love of shopping, gardening, reading, and keeping up with current events, she also enjoyed traveling with Ron and cheering on her grandchildren at their activities. Her family was her world, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Maryann L. Bishop-Jodoin of Rhode Island, and Laurie P. Estrella and her husband Robert of Attleboro; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica M. Rotondo and her husband Douglas of Rhode Island, Emily E. Jodoin of Rhode Island, and Ethan R. Estrella of Attleboro. Pat also leaves behind her dear sister Michele Lallier and her husband Romeo of North Attleboro, her brother Douglas Weldon and his wife Fran of South Attleboro, her sister-in-law Carole Frazier of Ormond Beach, FL, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in her honor by the Reverend David A. Costa, Pat and Ron's longtime friend, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mark's Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls. Pat will be laid to rest privately with her beloved Ron at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls.
