Thomas F. Packer

Thomas "Witt" F. Packer, born on April 9, 1927, in Providence, RI, passed away on June 8, 2025.

A dedicated man of many talents and passions, he was a beloved figure in the communities he resided in and touched the lives of many with his kindness and determination. Thomas entered the Navy at the age of 17, serving as an Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class during World War II from 1944 to 1946. After his military service, he worked for Balfour before he became the owner of MOD Associate, a jewelry company known for manufacturing class rings and military rings, as well as the owner of the Latoma Company. Thomas's dedication to his community was evident through his presidency of the North Attleboro Lions Club in 1967, his active membership in the Y Stay Home Ski Club and as a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in North Attleboro.

Thomas was a resident of North Attleboro for the past four years, having previously resided in Smithfield, RI for over 45 years after raising his family for many years in North Attleboro. His hobbies included skiing, golfing, dancing, singing, gardening, and traveling. His zest for life and tireless dedication to his family, businesses, and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Thomas is survived by his three children, Lloyd Packer and his wife Audrey of Attleboro; Dawn Packer and her partner Paul Chicoine of North Attleboro and Glenn Packer of Pawtucket, RI; his grandchildren, Nicole Mello, Michelle Packer, Jonathan Packer, Desiree Bell and Jennifer Packer; his great grandchildren, Trent Mello, Hunter Mello, Nicholas Packer, Madalynn Salois, Mackenzie Packer and Maiya Escobar.

He was preceded in death by his devoted spouse, Alice Packer, his siblings, Dorothy Jensen, Lloyd Packer and Earl Packer and his parents, Stephen and Theresa Packer.

A burial service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 9:45 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, Massachusetts.
