Francis Martin Obituary

Francis W. Martin
Fosterburg - Francis W. Martin, 79, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 4, 2024.
Francis, at the special request of his government, served his country with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam Conflict. He later proudly served as Town Clerk for Foster Township, on the board for Fosterburg Water Department, the board for Hayner Public Library, and the board for the Fosterburg Cemetery Association. Francis worked for ConAgra and BJC Health Systems for many years.
He is loved and will be missed by his son, Matthew W. Martin and his wife Angela; two beloved grandsons, Evan and Elliott, all of Fosterburg; one sister, Sheree "Lee" (Richard) Shields of Alton; a nephew, Christopher (Kendra) Shields; a great nephew, Lincoln Shields; a brother-in-law, Richard Luecht of Godfrey and a close friend, Kathy Bivins.
Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Penelope "Penny" (Horn) Martin; his dear son Andrew Gerald Martin; his parents, George and Frances "Elizabeth" Martin; and a sister, Elizabeth "Ann" Luecht.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at Fosterburg Baptist Church, where he attended. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the church, followed by burial at Fosterburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mississippi Valley Christian School, which can be found at www.mvcs-il.org
